Scotiacon 2027: Massive in the Metropolis
Event Proposal and DJ Application Form
Welcome to Massive in the Metropolis!
Thank you for your interest in running an event at Scotiacon 2027: Massive in the Metropolis.
Whether your event embraces the theme or explores something completely different, we'd love to hear it. From panels and workshops to games, meet-ups, performances and DJ sets, every event helps bring the city to life.
Your proposal does not need to match the convention theme. It's there to inspire, not restrict, so don't let it limit your creativity.
Never run an event before? That's absolutely okay! We welcome proposals from both first-time and experienced presenters, and the Events Team is always happy to help you develop your idea.
DJ Sets
If you're submitting a DJ set, please select DJ Set under Event Format and DJ Sets under Event Category.
Doing so will reveal the additional DJ-specific questions, including your preferred genre, preferred set length and a required demo or sample link.
One event per submission
This form is for one event only. If you'd like to run multiple events, simply submit a separate proposal for each one.
Don't worry if your idea seems obvious. We'd much rather receive two proposals for similar ideas than miss out on a fantastic event altogether. If we receive similar submissions, we'll work with the presenters involved to explore whether they can be combined, expanded or scheduled in a way that gives everyone the best possible experience.
Know someone who'd run a fantastic panel, workshop, game, performance or DJ set? Share this form with them!
Before you submit
Please read the guidance for each field carefully before completing the form.
The guidance explains what information we're looking for and helps us review proposals consistently. The more detail you can provide, the easier it is for us to understand your idea and what you'll need to run it successfully.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss an idea before submitting it, we're always happy to help.
We aim to reply as quickly as possible, although response times may be a little longer during busy periods.
Accessibility and support
If there are any accessibility requirements, adjustments or concerns that would help you deliver your event, please let us know.
Accessibility requirements will never count against your proposal. The earlier we know about them, the easier it is for us to support you and schedule your event successfully.
Likewise, if you'd like advice developing an idea, refining a proposal or adapting an event for the convention, the Events Team will be happy to help.
What happens next?
- Submit your proposal before the deadline. Early submissions are encouraged, as this gives us more time to discuss your idea with you.
- We'll review your submission. If we have questions or suggestions, an Events Liaison may contact you before decisions are made.
- Once the Call for Proposals closes, we'll complete the review process, assemble the programme and let you know the outcome.
- If accepted, you'll work with an Events Liaison to prepare your event for the convention, including scheduling, technical requirements and any final details.
Submission deadline
The deadline for proposals is 23:59 BST on Wednesday 30 September 2026.
We're looking forward to seeing the ideas our community brings to Scotiacon 2027. Thank you for helping build another incredible weekend - we can't wait to see Massive in the Metropolis come to life through your events.
You can enter proposals until 2026-09-30 23:59 (Europe/London), 1 month from now.
